The OVA is

"a nonprofit organization formed for the purpose of  acting as a non-partisan civic organization to encourage and aid all year round & seasonal residents of the Village of Osterville and to work together for the best interests of the Village."

Around Osterville News: 

√  The OVA Annual Meeting is scheduled for August 18th at 7:30pm at St. Peters church on Wianno Ave.

√ Village Day is was July 17th, see Pictures from around Town, Car Parade, Float Parade, Road Race Pictures, and Road Race Results.

√  From the Town Councilor's Report: The stoplight construction at Bump's River and South County Road will be held off until the fall. Additional sidewalk will be added between Fire Station Road and Seapuit Road.

√  Membership Forms have been sent out. Please check your mailboxes. Don't forget to include your email address on your membership return form to help in our efforts to "go green" and reduce paper mailings.

√ See The Plans! A copy of the park's plans will be posted on the bulletin board in front of the Post Office. Construction of Cotacheset Park (located on the green at the entrance to the Osterville Baptist Church) is underway with completion anticipated in mid-June. The OVA will donate $5,000.00 from their reserves to help fund the materials needed for the Cotachesset Park Project. Any additional donations would be much appreciated. √ The proposal for the Osterville Bay Family School is still under review by the town of Barnstable.

√  From the Town Councilor's report (a.) $650,000 has been approved by the town to be allocated towards the Bridge Street draw bridge to improve the workings and mechanics. Work will begin in Fall '10/Spring'11. (b.) In addition, the FAA has sponsored improvements to the Hyannis Airport. The terminal will receive a complete make over and a separate tower will be built this spring/summer. (c.) Osterville West Barnstable Road repair costs will be submitted in next year's budget. The future improvements to the road will include a complete rebuild.
